Christmas and New Years

On the 20th we went to Jayson's squadron Christmas party which was a lot of fun! Jayson won a gift card in the raffle and they gave us a wonderful dinner. For dinner on Christmas Eve we went over to one of Jayson's friends house. The couples house we were at are Hispanic and they made (and showed how to make) tamales. We were able to help spread the masa on the corn husks and fill with the beef. Although a great effort, Jayson and I are definitely are not top tamale makers, but they were pretty good. They had also deep fried a turkey (YUM!!) and had so much more food. On Christmas morning we went over to my friend Faiths for a small little get together with some sweets and a gift exchange. We went over to Callie and Jake's for dinner, just the four of us. On New Years we went on a trip to London with Callie, Jake, Colleen, and Nick. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant called Fire and Stone and we were able to stand by the river and watch the fireworks (which I watched by holding my phone up and turning on the video, short people problems). It wasn't exactly the trip we had expected it to be, it was still worth it! We wish we could have been home with all of our family but it was nice to be surrounded by our group of friends for the holidays. Jayson is off work for this week so we are just kinda hanging out and relaxing. I leave in a week for Greece and then start school as soon as I get back. We miss everyone and hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
